All three of those are going to be a long commute to Southlake due to the DFW Connector construction that is currently underway. DFW Connector Highway Construction Project by Northgate Constructors The construction is scheduled to last thorugh 2013. Most of the lane closures take place at night and on the weekends, but the traffic still moves slowly during the day.

To avoid the traffic, I would recommend looking for an apartment in Grapevine. This will allow you to take surface streets to Southlake and avoid a lot of the construction mess. Another alternative is to live off Hwy 26 near Colleyville/Hurst. This will be a longer drive, but it will be on surface streets and not take you through the construction.

Good luck!

will you have children in schools and what price range
no apts in Southlake or Colleyville themselves
Grapevine, NRHills, north Euless, Bedford
have apts that are fairly easy commute--reasonable for most people and in good school zones
might even be apts along 1709 in Keller area but not really sure about that
what commute do you want?
apts in north Hurst would not rate as highly mainly because of location and how they look to me

Keller or Grapevine would be best for a job in Southlake right now.

Believe me the contruction on 114/121 would make for an AWEFUL daily commute. 26 has become almost a parking lot in Grapevine on some days if you try to avoid 114.

Very nice Apts in Keller with 3 bedrooms etc... one is stonegate(?) off Bourland and Johnson rd.
There are some right in Town center off of 1709
As well as some that are off of North Tarrant PKY.
ALL are zone to EXCELLANT schools.

know a few families that have lived in the Apts during transitions (new home building, fire etc...) and they seem well pleased.

Also NRH and HEB area depending on budget.

Where in Southlake is the job? That would help with best commute as well.

Thank you Christiep, love2 read, 5 stones for all your overwhelmed answers i appreciate it. The information was very informative and helps me decide where to move.

I will be working for fedex in Southlake, TX 76092 and i do have a kid going to kindergarden, so was wondering how do i manage both good schools vs commute.

All of those areas we suggested have fabulous schools. Basically, all of the cities in NE Tarrant County have very good schools.

NRH and Keller will be the longest drive from Southlake. Grapevine will be the closest.
