Don't be so quick to blame the media. It could very well be what PISD is publishing.

Folks, are gonna hate on Plano, no matter what! Even to the point of... exonerating the media, who's job it is to fact check!

this is ridiculous! pisd must keep a good balance and people should work together to keep improve whole school system. all three high schools have area kids and must get equal oppurtunities. this mine vs yours is a childish argument. big schools can have smaller units so it is just a management issue. i don't see any real advantage in small schools... keeping kids in a cocoon and then seding them away to adjust in huge universities is plain scary.they need skills and practice to cope with new life style.

p.s. its good to see that garland people are so 'concerned' about our schools. apparently garland has no problems of their own?

Well, I posted it as no one else had and thought it would be useful info for those looking to relocate. There have been numerous posts in the last few days from people inquiring about the PISD. And it IS a concern as this is one big metroplex and everything does go hand in hand. I have friends and family with kids in the PISD. What does it really matter to you anyway?

Just noticed that you are always so very 'thoughtful' about Plano and PISD. we appreciate your concern.

I see you have correctly deduced how this is an enormous advantage with respect to sports.
So all four grades included. Got it.

5A schools drawing from a pool of 2000 kids are playing Plano schools with a pool of 4000, 5000, and 6000 kids.

So how are the UIL numbers unfair to Plano schools?

Pretty sure 2000 kids is 4A.

It must be approximately the cutoff because I'm seeing schools with less than 2100 in 5A.

That's a four year high school not a two year high school like the Plano ISD has.

Oh I don't trust the staff at PISD much more than I trust the media. But Channel 8 is notorious for failing to do actual reporting.

And I would be willing to bet that Mr. Stoler's info is coming as much from the parents who organized Save Plano West, who didn't bother to show up during the realignment hearings as it is from PISD data.
