I hope people there are nicer and more forgiving than the ones on the web, on the other hand, I don' give a ****. And no I don't need a job, I work for myself. I want to leave California for the high cost of living and another reason that I don't want to disclose on the web as it is personal. Other than that I like it here, but I am sure I will like it in Texas too. As far as naty people, I can deal with them, no problemo ........
We'll keep a light on for ya', Joycey

It's all right, you admitted you got it wrong. No worries. We're all just poking fun at ya, it's just good natured seeing as how your initial post was kinda a slash & burn type of post.

Hope you find a good place here in the great state of Texas. If you've got further questions, fire away. Just remember it's Texas...we just might fire back!

Welcome to Texas.

Love CA people. They say their property taxes are 1/3 the TX rate (true) but in most areas their homes are 2-3 times our prices. (usually)

Because there is no State Income tax Texans pay high property taxes and sales taxes. In the late 70's Californians severely cut the ability for local tax jurisdictions to tax property by Prop XIII. In fact people who still live in the same home as when Prop XIII passed pay very low taxes.

Good news for you Joyce if you are 65 or disabled Texas has other exemptions to help you with your tax burden. But a lot like California a lot of things most call taxes are called fees here. But all things considered Texas has a fairly economic system so moving from California to Texas should save you a lot of money.
