Hello, I am new to Texas and looking into Junior Colleges. I live in Flower Mound and the degree of study that I am interested in is NOT being offered anywhere other than Tarrant County. Does anyone have any experience with the traffic? I noticed that there are three different routes and am wondering what I am in for. Any help, or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

FM to Hurst should be a fairly easy commute. Right now the north end of the airport is under construct which will make it a little harder but you will be going against the traffic.

FM is a tall city so depending on if you are on the south or north end it should normally be a 20-30 minute commute.

Come straight down Hwy 26 through Grapevine, Colleyville and to TCC in Hurst. You actually don't even have to get on the highway!

The hardest part will be going down 121 by Grapevine Mills Mall to Hwy 26 due to the construction. There again you should be going most of the way against traffic.

Yep, going down 26 and totally avoiding 121 is not a bad commute at all, then you can wind west and catch 360. I'm estimating about 30 to 40 minutes

You can head down 2499 and catch the backdoor on to 26 by the mall, as well.

DON"T get on the freeway--121 or 114--after 3pm
traffic is just too bad because of the construction
you can use Hwy 26--that goes straight into Hurst and TCC Hurst sits right on corner of Hwy 26 and Harwood Rd
lights on 26 are synched better than they used to be and depending on number of cars at a light it is possible to flow with traffic pretty smoothly from Grapevine/Target strip mall through Colleyville into Hurst area
but the traffic is busy ALL day long--
I drive that road a lot and because most of it is 2 lane w/no median it can be backed up suddenly with people turning across traffic so you have to be alert---
and there are police expecially in school zones--
saw someone pulled over today on Mustang

You can avoid the Grapevine mall traffic on 2499 by taking a right on Lakeside Pkwy, through 2 roundabouts, it will take you over the Grapevine lake bridge and join you on 26. Continue on 26 to Hurst as other suggested.

Except there is always some jackass who actually does 30 MPH over the bridge and makes it take forever.
