Take the girlfriend to Highland Park Village. She'll love you forever. Don't forget the AmEx black card though....

Deep Ellum also has good burgers and beer at Adair's and Angry Dog. The original Snuffer's on Lower Greenville is also a good place for those.. The Grape on Lower Greenville was named the best burger in Texas (but it's not that casual). For super-casual go to Keller's Drive-In on Northwest Highway between Abrams and White Rock Lake for the #5 burger.

Basically anything that Lakewooder recommends is what's up. Angry Dog is great, Snuffers is good, and Kellers is awesome

All excellent and I've started a "wish list" looks like I'll have to buy an extra plane seat for the flight home! Any tips on the job market, what if anything I should do while I am there?

Do you fly? Because there are TONS of companies headquartered in the Dallas area who operate business jets. Most fly out of Love Field- there are a ton of pj hangars there. Check out AT&T, Frito Lay, Exxon Mobil, JCPenney, Dean Foods, EDS, Texas Instruments, TXU......almost all of them have full-time pilots on the payroll. My company has an "aviation department" of 14 full-time people, including 7 pilots, maintenance techs, etc.

Also, a ton of families in the area have private jets or lease airtime on a regular basis. I'm bet there's some sort of contract pilot group to hire for all these flights.

No I don't fly. I was a flight attendant for a regional airline and now am a ramp agent. I would like to get an office job with an airline or anything related to aviation.
