I need some help deciding on an MBA program in the DFW area. SMU and TCU are out for financial reasons, so that leaves UNT, TWU, UTD, and UTA. I'm also considering the online program at A&M Commerce. Any feedback from hiring managers, current students, and alumni would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

My wife did it at UTD. My dad at SMU. UTD was very convenient for both of them, as we all live in Plano.

What are you trying to accomplish? What do you want to do w/ your MBA? What are your GMAT scores?

Also look at DeVry's Keller Graduate School of Management
Online MBA, Master's Degrees & Graduate Certificates | Keller Graduate School of Management

and Amberton University (I'm an alumni!!)
Amberton University - Home

Speaking as an HR Manager, DO NOT go to University of Phoenix...

I have a couple of friends that attended the Baylor Executive MBA program that meets at the Cooper Aerobic Center. They cannot say enough nice things about it, but I do recall one of them saying it was about 60k. I think it is a 22 month program that meets every other Friday and Saturday for full day sessions.

My GMAT score is well within the 25th-75th percentile range for any of those state schools - right about the middle.

I currently own/operate a business with my husband and am in the process of launching another one. I'd like to be self-employed, but need my MBA to fall back on if the second business doesn't take off. I know I will need outside employment for at least three or four years while I build my businesses up and pay back student loans. I think marketing holds the most appeal for me.

SMU has many scholarship programs. Are you sure you explored all of them? Do you know what you want to pursue after getting your MBA. Each school's program will be stronger in one field than another, so knowing what you will pursue would help recommend one too.

UTD has the highest ranking in DFW area for its MBA program. It's ranked 40th nationwide.

I'm currently pursuing an accelerated BBS/MBA at DBU. I chose that school on the recommendation my HR manager. There are a few of us attending DBU. Others who have recently graduated attended UTD.

Good luck!

My wife graduated in Dec with her EMBA from UTA. It was more affordable than SMU that is for sure. As part of the cost, they went to China for three weeks to learn the Chinese business model. Pretty cool stuff
