Believe it or not the scenic 'nature' of the area is what made those apartments so initially successful and the reason so many were built on 'the edge of town'.

With any luck, we can get some sort of anouncement out of Prescott Realty with regards to the Lake Highlands Town Center (Lake Highlands). That plan is more urban in nature (not super-high density, but definitely very complimentary to the neighborhoods surrounding it and substantially better than what it replaced). I'm getting concerned about the project as it's been delayed so much and Prescott keeps saying that an announcement is "just weeks away" since late 2010... that site has SOOOOOOOOOOO much potential.

There could have been a way to save the creek and trees in my opinion.

Let's just say it's in Lake Highlands since it's north of NW Highway...

I could be wrong, but I think there will still be a creek running behind the development. I saw a layout of the stores and parking online and it appeared from that depiction that the creek will still be there. It might actually look pretty cool. I'm very excited about the JC Penney and the Chick-fil-A.

The creek was diverted along the back side of the lot (opposite to the NW Highway frontage), but is far from a natural look. Furthermore, along the Skillman corridor, it was rerouted and then covered underground.
