There is a similar thread in the main Texas forum, so you can use that one if you want.

...and I found this thread, but I didn't read through it, so I'm not sure what you'll find in it:

Thank you. I've heard many great things about Frisco.

Frisco will be more along the lines of Alpharetta or Roswell in terms of demographics and ammenities.

Those two cities are little rural like. My wife was looking at Frisco and Allen.

Well I wouldn't call Frisco rural, but like other suburbs, it is highly suburban and very spread out; neighborhoods and businesses are often separated by large fields of nothing but grass.

That said, Frisco and Allen are very far out, and in traffic the drive into central Dallas could easily be more than an hour. If you're interested in the north side, there are very nice areas that are much closer in. Personally, I'd take a look at Addison. It's a younger, more diverse, and more "happening" suburb that's immediately north of Dallas. Commute to central Dallas is generally around 30-45 minutes, and you're right down the street from the Galleria.

I will look into that. Cedarhill sounds like it will be the place we will consider if we move to the Dallas area. BTW, I wonder why Houston isn't helping. My thread was locked. I hope that is not a sign.

Cedar Hill has a lot of hills, big lake, some pretty trees. I think that area would be best for you. Plus southern Dallas county tends to cater more to black Americans IMO.
