I've lived pretty much my whole life in Texas, and now we're moving to the one big city area I've not lived in -- DFW.

We have extended family out in the Mckinney/Allen/Fairview area, and we're love to live out there, considering we want a little bit of space between us and our neighbors, some mature tree cover, and good schools for our preschool age children to grow-up in.

The problem is - it's looking like my work will be centered in the Las Colinas area, which means I'd just about have to be bonkers to sign-up for the daily commute from the aforementioned areas down to the LC every weekday.

So my question is -- are there any areas on the west side of North Dallas that would make for a shorter commute but still have the same appeal as Mckinney and Fairview -- larger lots, somewhat newer homes, trees, great school?

Thanks in advance!

Not good. Move on. The district is so fractured that part of the schools want to leave the district, but no bordering district wants them.

North Carrollton schools are good--they are in the Lewisville school district.
