Hi All,

I'm an Asian male in mid 20's. I'm considering moving to Dallas from Las Vegas. What can you tell me about the asian (esp Vietnamese) community there? How is the dating scene there? How is the nightlife?

Thanks,

Here's some demographic background on the Asian communities in Dallas. I believe the Vietnamese community in Houston is bigger and more visible but it's not insubstantial in Dallas. :

Asian Growth is Hot in Dallas/Ft. Worth

DFW International

There's a Vietnamese community in Garland as well as in Haltom City on the Tarrant County (Fort Worth) side of the Metroplex.

Dallas has a much larger Asian and specifically Vietnamese population compared to Las Vegas.

DALLAS METRO AREA
Asian population: 318,023
Vietnamese population: 63,699

LAS VEGAS METRO AREA
Asian population: 147,314
Vietnamese population: 6,242

So you can see the difference between the cities.

And I lived in Houston for 2 years and would consistently drive up to Dallas to party at the "Asian clubs" so the nightlife was good.

Dating scene not sure although I did pick up a few hunnies at the club but nothing went further than that

Houston has a larger/stronger Vietnamese population, especially on the southwest of town where I think there is an actual district. But Dallas is probably better than Vegas (in more ways than just that.)

I believe the Dallas and Las Vegas comparison is off because lets face it "everything is bigger in Texas". I'm filipino and I tend to go for latina and white girls cause I need a girl with some curves.
