My sister just graduated and is looking for a full-time or 30+ hours/week nanny gig. She's been a nanny and a preschool teacher before.

For those of you who employ a nanny or looked for one, where did you look?

This forum never seems to disappoint--thought I could give her some good ideas.

I've used and recommended Park Cities Staffers many times...they are really great to work with.

I'd second this - we found our nanny though Sittercity.com. Tell her to make sure she has a VERY professional profile + spell everything correctly and use correct English as well as prepay the whopping $10 for the background check. These things will help tremendously. Lots of people on the site with unprofessional appearances, poor grammar and that don't have background checks done ahead of time. People are looking for the path of least resistance.

Brian

My parents had great success with the Greyhound Station, Silver City Cabaret and Lew Sterrett.

She could also approach a local preschool and leave her resume/information. I work at a preschool and we always get parents asking us for nanny recommendations for the summer.

I think people shouldn't have kids if they need a nanny. Just my opinion.
