Som what are we going to do about replacing him? Can't imagine he is going to stay. This is the second time we know he has been looking elsewhere, and this time he is the only finalist. Let the rampant speculation begin.

Word on the playground was that he had resigned. Not sure if that was misunderstood or not.

WFAA is reporting the FWISD super resigned today to a "group of pricipals" (as opposed to the school board), in addition to Hinojosa announcing he is the finalist for a Georgia job he never "applied for". They can't submit a formal job offer to him for 2 more weeks and then DISD will decide whether or not to counter. I think he has done a lot of good in the district and with the board, but good riddance- let him go!! No need to counter during a budget crisis.

the FTWISD super is probably trying to get out while getting is good
FTW is going to be in so much worse shape after the state reduces the budget contribution and I think she has discovered that trying to get the board to see eye to eye on anything is worse that corralling cobras
and she will be paid until Sept 19 but I think they will let her walk away with her money cause most of them don't want her around
which shows how stupid they are

Employees will lie through their teeth until they have secured a new job just like employers will lie through their teeth up until the layoffs come. I have no problem with what Hinojosa has done. If he wants to move on, more power to him.

Fox News said that if he leaves, he'd get a cut from his current $328K/year salary to around $200K in Atlanta, but that he'd qualify for retirement from Texas for 2/3 of his current salary, or around $220K. WTF? He has a contractual obligation to stay until 2015. I wonder if there's a clause where if he breaks his contract, he's not eligible for retirement benefits.

I really have an issue with people that don't serve out their obligations. Obama stepped down from his post to take a better position; Leppert left to pursue a better position; now Hinojosa is going to break his promise, too. It appears public sector workers word can't be taken at face value anymore. Sigh.

Amen! All he is doing is bailing out now that the pressure is on with the budget issues. He did nothing before except let a massive credit card fraud occur, deplete the budgets and make additional commitments that are costing the DISD. What is amazing is that with his crappy record that anyone would hire him even if he is the only applicant for the job??
