Our family is relocating from Seattle to Dallas. My husband will be working in Irving. What neighborhoods do you recommend that are very family friendly (good schools, safe, parks, lots of families). I would like my husband’s commute to work to be 30 minutes or less
Thank you!

One of my favorite areas that is close is Flower Mound and Coppell (depending on your price)

What is your budget? Are you planning on renting first?

Definitely need to know your budget and whether you will be renting or buying. We usually advise to rent for 6 months and get a feel for the area before buying.

Yes, rent for a bit to learn the area(s). While you're renting you can snag a realtor to help your search. Don't unpack much because you'll move again. It's a pain, but look at it as if you're on a vacation or camping in an apartment. Many motels here that are meant for longer term stays that may be better than just an apartment. Store most of your belongings.

Good luck and welcome!

Thank you everyone! I really appreciate the input. We will be renting with a budget of up to $2,000/mo (unfortunately we will still have a house mortgage in Seattle to support).

Here's my recommendations with links to current listings for rent (just to give you a map fix). All family friendly communities near Irving:

215 Nutmeg Lane Euless TX - Home for Rent - MLS #11598773 - Realtor.com®

629 Raven Ln Coppell TX - Home for Rent - MLS #11547276 - Realtor.com®

And for Irving, this one is in the highly desirable Coppell Schools in a section of Irving Called Valley Ranch:
9006 Silverdollar Trl Irving TX - Home for Rent - MLS #11597883 - Realtor.com®
