In general, you want to stay west of Preston Rd. to be considered "West Plano". Believe me, it changes quickly once you cross over Preston.
I have concluded that there are too many apartments on Ohio Drive, which is not good, in my opinion. You may live in a good complex, but the negative always seems to find a way to spill over.
I looked at "Heritage at Lakeside" which is on the corner of Spring Creek and Preston. I loved the European design and it seems more like a little town than a complex. There are porches and everything. I saw very few kids when I drove through. The garage is also included. I remember a 1 bedroom went for $900 after a 3% preferred employer discount.
Make sure to check out apartmentratings.com to be aware of potential issues with the complex.
