It seems like it to me. I don't see a single reason NOT to live there. It has great warm climate, all the major stores (in abundance), Great people everywhere, great entertainement, great jobs, and great everything else. Why isn't everyone in Dallas?

I would definitely say it's one of the better cities in the country for sure! The biggest negative for me is that it's not near beaches/mountains, other than that I'm quite happy with this city. My husband and I have toyed with moving to NYC, LA, Chicago, Tampa, Boston...and we keep circling around to "what could we possibly do there that we can't do here?". Quality of life is so much better here and although it does get hot, it's a hell of a lot better than shoveling snow lol. The money I'm saving by living here can pay for as many trips to the beach or the mountains as I want.

If Dallas area had beach/mountains it would have a pop of 15 mil. or more. I move to FL last yr and now I'm thinking about moving back.

Well, the last part of your great statement answers your own question.

Dallas may have some great features, including, among everything else, plenty of great negatives for staying away. Just 'cause you like it doesn't really mean it's worth much to anyone else.

I rather enjoyed the place but no more than anyplace else I've appreciated as being my home.

Ya know, there's always Taos.

Warm my rear end. Hot & humid. Downright miserable from June to September. 98 when the sun goes down and 83 when it comes up.

Its been home for many years but the weather is awful about half the year and there's no mountains or ocean. However it does have a great vibe and housing is reasonable.

I love the DFW area, but no way is Dallas the greatest city in the US.
