I'm trying to figure out where I live

Does anyone have a source online for maps of city borders? Specifically Carrollton and Addison.....and also how do I know what county I'm in? I'm apparently on the edges of Dallas, Denton and Collin counties

Thanks

Do you own the property or rent? If you own it, what city and county do you pay property taxes to? It's possible to even have an address in two cities and two counties. Those are few and far between but they do exist.

You can also look up your address on the county tax rolls.
Dallas Central Appraisal District
Welcome to the Collin Central Appraisal District
Denton Central Appraisal District - Home

As for the city....... what city is your mail addressed to? You can also look up your address in a Mapsco as it has city and county lines but if you are one lot on the border it's not that specific.

I am actually in an apartment complex (on timberglen and midway), the papers we signed said DALLAS, not any sub-city of any sort, I called them a few days ago to inquire and she said we were in ADDISON, but my neighbor suggests that we are in Carrollton, and I haven't asked about Counties yet.

Timberglen is in the City Limits of Dallas. Carrollton (south and west of your location) and Addison are further south at Trinity Mills right on the Dallas County Line w/ Denton and Collin Counties. If you are east of Midway you are in Denton County. West of Midway is Collin County. But, that section of Dallas no matter which county you are in, Collin or Denton, it is the same zipcode, 75287.

I would go to the DFW Maps section of NCTCOG:

Welcome to NCTCOG.org

In the boundaries section turn on "cities" and you'll get what you want. I find these maps to be the most accurate since they are submitted by the member cities of NTCOG (North Central Texas Council of Governments).
