I've recently relocated to the Dallas/Addison area. I hear Addison is a fun/hopping area for bars & clubs. Where would you recommend to mingle with single 30 somethings here or surrounding areas? Hot spots to cocktail/serve/bartend? Decent staffing agencies? I appreciate any info!
How do you like living in Addison so far? I will be moving there soon and was looking at the Addison area to rent. I'm also a single 30 something.

I think Memphis is still on Beltline? It was good a couple years back. Flying Saucer is ok and Dukes is real busy on weekends too

There is also: the Mucky Duck (formerly Zen), Mercy Wine Bar, Pete's Piano Bar, right next to it is the Addison Improv, Gecko's, Soho, Kenny's (a nice restaurant but have lot's of ppl hanging out at the bar. They have Grey Goose on tap). Addison Circle has salsa/symphonies/jazz playing on Saturday's.

I do not like living in the Addison area. I'm a bit younger than you. I'm also not really into Affliction and Tap Out clothing, and I don't like how hard it is to bike in the area. It's too suburban for what I would really like.

I love it. In fact I like going out in Addison a lot more than Dallas. Addison is a lot more laid back and you find all kinds of people hanging out with each other.

The opposite of that last statement is what going out in Dallas is like. The only thing great about Dallas nightlife is that its techno/trance/EDM club scene is on of the best in the country.

There are laid back parts of Dallas as well. They just aren't in Uptown for the most part.

Agreed. The poster who said Dallas isn't laid back has clearly never been to Lee Harvey's in the Cedars or the Belmont's bar in North Oak Cliff or the Balcony Club / Times Ten/ Cosmo's in Lakewood or pretty much any bar up & down lower Greenville or the Windmill or Maple Point in the UTSW area or te ToT and Inwood Taverns in Greenway Parks/Devonshire.....

There's a lot more to central Dallas nightlife than Uptown & Knox-Henderson. A lot more.

I agree. I don't find Addison to be very laid back actually. Most of the places I go to in Addison are uncomfortably crowded.

Crowded doesn't mean it's not laid back though
