There used to be a bowling alley there.

I thought I heard someone say at some point in time the current Children's Theater was a bowling alley in it's former life. Anyone know if that's true?

In Southlake, we have a Costco and Sam's Club within 5 miles of each other.

I remember the old Don Carter's bowling alley there. And there used to be a Venture store behind it...

Yes and where Home Depot/former Venture store is located was "The Place" apartments - I lived there during my junior year of SMU. They were already going downhill just a dozen or so years after they were built.

If they put a Costco in there, it would be about 500 yards from the new Sam's.

No, not really. It's not near big enough to accomodate an Ikea and all the parking it would require. Plus it doesn't make sense from the chain's point of view. Why do you think they build them out in the boonies? Cheap land. Plus I have never seen an Ikea in the United States that you could not see from a highway.

You can't see the one in Burbank from the highway. But you're right, the site isn't big enough, and it would probably be too expensive.
