i seen an ad on craigslist about a cna job in the dallas area and i applied to it just to see if i'd get a bite and i did. Unfortunatly when she called me after reviewing my resume and cover letter stating that i would relocate on my own expenses, she wanted me down there for an interview TOMORROW which i couldnt do because im still working here in michigan and i work tomorrow 7p-7a. I dont know what to do now. I feel bummed.

She knows you're relocating so what's the problem with telling her you need a couple of days to cover your shifts and secure a flight.

Nursing homes only hire CNAs when they have an opening, and they do expect you to be able to interview the next day. It is almost impossible for them to hire someone with a future start date because they do not know if they will have a position available. You are going to have to relocate here without a job, and then find one once you get here. The good thing is that there are a lot of nursing homes and home health agencies here that hire CNAs.

Also, have you started on your Texas CNA license reciprocity yet? You cannot work even a single day on an out of state CNA certification in Texas.

As soon as you get down here and find a place to live, start going to area nursing homes and home health agencies and filling out apps. Many of them do on-the-spot interviews. If you do decide to live in NE Tarrant (Euless area) send me a PM and I will give you two referrals.
