It's like comparing apples to oranges. Each city has a different look , feel, vibe, etc. Personally, I prefer DT Ft. Worth over DT Dallas but thats my preference and I live in DT Dallas. About that park, where are you suppose to park to go to the park?

Parking garages, street parking, parking lots than walk. I'm sure there will be places where one can park.

I never have trouble finding street parking, at the main street garden park in downtown. The old Statler hotel is ugly! Am I the only person who thinks so, and are there still plans to fix it up?

Are you talking about Klyde Warren Park? Plenty of parking nearby or it's an easy walk and close to public transportation:

Access to downtown Dallas

main street garden park
You may not be the only one, but most people really like it (and it's the best block of 1950s architecure in the city). The exterior has been completely cleaned, and blue LED lights will appear in about a month. Apartments and retail coming soon.

I spent the weekend at the Hotel Joule downtown as part of a 50th birthday celebration and was quite impressed with the clean up of Statler-Hilton and the night life in general. There were quite a few people on the streets even at 3 am.

I love the Joule but I've never stayed there. My friends room had a round bed, it was pretty cool. Maybe it will look better after the lights are added. I've heard it has really short ceilings that may be one reason I don't like it. I'm pretty tall.

We were in a loft suite so no problems there...also it came with a cabana at the pool. That was really fun, there were girls there promoting two different liquors so we never had to pay for drinks. Then we ate at Charlie Palmer's for the restaurant week menu...

Oh wait I should have clarified. The ceiling height is fine at the joule. Beautiful property, I saw the lobby and my friends room it had a really cool round bed and then we went to pm night lounge in the basement(probably the best nightclub ive ever seen, but way out of my budget).

I heard the statler had low ceilings, but I think it was common to have low ceilings around that time. It will be neat to see what they do on the inside.
