My husband, myself, and my two little daughters are moving to the Dallas area. We had picked out a place in Royse City and are selling our house in Utah. We like Royse Due to the big acre lots, newer houses, and areas that have lots of young families (for the girls). But suddenly we've found this information about the "Trans Texas Corridor" that they are planning to build right through Royse City! I just don't know what to think. We've been doing all this research on it, and it is looking like it might happen whether or not the general public wants it to. So now, with our house on the market and being looked at regularly, we don't know where to go! We work from home, and don't have to be in a particular area, so now we need some advice from all of you who know the area so much better than we do. We really want a low crime, family friendly city, with at least acre lots that is not on the main agenda for this TTC. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!!
Thanks for your time and help!

Look at Fairview, Lucas and Anna. Fairview and Lucas have some VERY nice areas and homes. All three have areas of new construction on large lots of 1-2 acres.

Default Thank you!

THanks so much. I'll check into those areas! Do any of you see concerns with this TTC? Or are we over reacting to the idea?

I've heard talk about it for years (and years and years... ). Same with that high speed rail that is going to run between Houston & Dallas. Someday, maybe before my kids are grandparents it might happen.

I do see something being done with the TTC someday because of the heavy freight traffic passing thru Texas. Just how large of a scale it is going to be, who knows. For some reason I just can not imagine a 10 lane highway going all the way across Texas. Not that it may not be needed, just people don't take to kindly on giving up their land for such "extras".

I do see concerns with the TTC. If you were able to move anywhere in the metroplex, I would completely avoid the entire eastside of the area. East of Dallas, Plano, McKinney and continuing north. TTC will bring massive issues related to smog/pollution/etc.
