Hey folks, I am reaching Dallas in Aug, heading to UTD for my higher studies. I would like to know which is the best and most convenient way to traverse from DFW airport to UTD campus? I will be having 2 23kg baggage and a hand bag with me probably )

Thank you ChristieP. How is the fare from DFW Airport to UTD Campus by this shuttle service? And how much time it takes generally?

I haven't used SS in years, but it used to be about $50 for a single trip. I would expect that drive to take about an hour, possibly longer if there is heavy traffic.

check the DFW airport site itself
there are links to public transportation companies like Super Shuttle, taxicabs, and hired cars (limos)
you can see their rates and price out your best option

remember to tell them how many pieces of luggage--kilos won't mean a thing--and how large they are
there are taxis that are minivans vs sedans and they would have more storeage room
but with your extra luggage I think it would be over $50--but that is just my guess--nothing legal

Thank you very much loves2read.

I will be having 2 baggage of 23kg each and a hand bag. I would prefer to for a cheap but convenient route to UTD. The shuttle service costs approx. how much?

Super Shuttle is usually around $50. That's really your only option besides taking a taxi. As Loves2read said, it's the size, not weight, of your bags that they will need to know.

and some taxis are minivans--
if you don't have BOXES like a footlocker size bag then a minivan for one person can carry a lot of suitcases--

do your own calling--
they respond to emails as well if your spoken English is not that fluent--
you can even send a pix of what you are bringing as luggage

and then their response of a written quote locks them into a price

remember you are expected to tip for shuttle or taxi service in this country--which may or may not be the practice in your own
and the driver won't help you carry your luggage into your dwelling--only remove at your stop

Thank you Loves2read )

I guess super shuttle will be the easiest and the most convenient option at hand. $50 is reasonable )

Regarding the tip, well thats not really a practice I follow back here as I am not earning right now )

How much do you folk generally tip for?

Here's a guide to tipping in the USA:
Tipping for Services, from Life in the USA: The Complete Guide for Immigrants and Americans

Generally, 15% is acceptable for most services, such as taxis and restaurant servers.
