I think they are open weekends. Or used to be...forever. Good stuff, though!! That was our Christmas dinner one year.

Recently tried Lockhart's in Bishop Arts district... their ribs and sausage are both to die for (or more likely to kill for... hehe)!

Nothin like Texas style BBQ-NOTHIN! My brother has The Big Green Egg, and everytime I come down we eat every type of meat possible on that thing and it's UNREAL! Problem is we usually don't get out to places because we eat so much off The Egg, so next time I will have to insist we don't use The Egg for a night or two and get our fannies out to some of these places people are recommending.

There is a listing on D-Magazine about every year. There are a number of very good BBQ places.
Some are chains such as dickeys and Spring Creek. It also depends where in the metro your at at the time you want some good barbeque. If you come over to the Fort Worth side Angelo's is popular.
There are some places in the stockyards and many in between or all around this area.
You may want to search the city-data forum. I believe a similar question within the past several months.

Here is this years link for D-magazine listing this year.

Off the Bone on South Lamar has some of the best ribs and sides that I have ever had. BTW, went to Sonny Bryans a couple of weeks ago, it certainly is nothing comparable to what it once was.

I'm no BBQ snob by any means, but the original Sonny Bryans is really good. I recently tried Rudy's in Frisco, and it was outstanding.

Remember, though, that asking about the best BBQ is just like asking about favorite pizza places. There are 1000 good ones, but everyone seems to think that their personal favorite just has to be the best to the exclusion of all other options. Nobody elses opinion could possibly be valid!
