Hi Everyone,

I am a single woman looking for an apartment in a safe neighborhood in Dallas or its suburbs.
I am looking for apartments under $600/month.
Please suggest some safe apartments for that price.

Thanks

That is going to be hard on $600/month. From reading here, I think $800 is what most people do.
Good luck.k

The Village apartments are the cheapest SAFE complex I can think or. The small older 1br's start around $675-700. They are located east of 75 and south of Northwest Highway.

If you can find a roomate, you can definitely find a 2br in the $1,000 range. I really dont know how else to make an under $600 budget work.

You will not find anything in North Dallas that is both safe and under $600 unless it is a small privately owned unit. Like stated a older unit in the Village would be your best bet.

I live in Triden Village in Addison/North Dallas and I like it, never felt unsafe to me and I've been here almost a year. I even got help carrying a TV stand up the stairs from the patrol cop, he is very nice and I talk to him whenever I see him Our neighbors are also nice, casual conversation in the laundry or mail room is pretty much guaranteed.

We pay about $600 (move in special) for a 750ish sqft apartment, 1 bed 1 bath and an upstairs den.......not bad IMO

The exteriors need updating, but that's about all. They've updated almost all of the buildings on the inside.

Thank you everyone for your replies. Looks like I have to increase my budget to be atleast $600/month to get something decent.
Please keep suggesting any more apartments you'll come across. It would be great help.

I was referred to Marsh Creek Apt off GB Toll and Marsh lane. But it will be a little more than $600.00 but less than $700.00. I dont' know how safe it is but apt rating are at 50% which is all I can go by. Hope this helps

That stretch of Marsh & Midway south of Bush isn't exactly a safe neighborhood. My sister used to live beteen Midway & the Dallas North Tollroad and heard gunshot fairly often. Not sure if those apartments are north or south of bush but if south, I'd strike them from the list.

Oh wow. These are just to the north of bush but it probably isn't the best. I am in a situation where I have to have second chance leasing and they work with you. But know I'm wondering if this is the reason????

Saxon Woods in McKinney. Nice and safe neighborhood and close to shopping and businesses. Got a promo rate at that time for less than $600 (1BR). Very clean, nice people, huge swimming pools, dog park, 24hrs gym and a clubhouse.
