Unity's Word of the Day, brought to you by Unity Church.

Unity Church is definitely still in business at their large campus on Forest Lane. I don't know whether the original church on Greenville is still there or if it is still the Unity Church.

I'm 62 and grew up in Dallas riding the bus downtown and walking to Lakewood. Downtown was the place to be even with very little money. I have no desire to go there now. It is so isolated and shut off. I was wondering about a club on the corner of Maple and Hudnall near Denton Dr. I lived there 16 years ago and anyone my age or older used to tell me stories about that place. It used to have a club on the 6th floor and apartments. All the flight attendants and pilots and Dallas Cowboys used to go there. Does anyone remember the name of the club? It is now the Town Square Apartments.

How about Fleetwood Square? I knew people that lived there back in the mid-60's! I lived at the 4500 Ceader Springs Apartments. Dallas was really "Hoppin" then - "the good old days" for sure!!

What year was that? My father was a photographer and she allowed him to photograph her before, during, and after the show so my mother could paint a portrait. I'd really like to put a date on them. Thanks

Default Pool Hall chain in Dallas

Does any body remember the pool hall chain in Dallas in the 70's and 80's there was one across from the old Dr. Pepper plant on Mockingbird. I remember they had gold felt on the pool tables. There were several locations around town.

does anyone remember the upscale ladies clothing store in European Crossroads called Patricia's? Is that still there? I worked there in the late 70s or early 80s. I got to do a new wardrobe for Mean Joe Green's wife! Very fun.

European Crossroads is no longer ‘The Uptown of its time is about to disappear’: Goodbye, finally, to European Crossroads | | Dallas Morning News.

Default European Crossroads

That whole area has changed. My buddies always celebrated birthdays at The Shed, ( All you can eat steak for 10 dollars ) included bake potato and salad. There were also disco's and night clubs throughout the area. Then the topless clubs moved in and things started to change. The whole group of restaurants that included Kosta's, Steak and Ale, and Vincents, slowly disappeared.
