I am a single dude in his 30's. Naturally, there is always going to be more 20 something's parading around most bars. It's like that in the current city I live in, but there are several bars we frequent that have a little older crowd. I am hoping Uptown would be something like that. Aside from nightlife I also like to run and it appears there is a nice trail (Katy trail) going through the area

So basically, where would you recommend living to someone in my situation that wants to have some fun and be close to work downtown.

Thanks
Sounds like a typical Uptown neighbor to me. Uptown is full of people ranging from single to couples and ages 25-35 years old. It's located just minutes from down town and minutes away from all the main hwys like the Dallas N Toll and Central (75). It's not uncommon to see people out walking or running for sure. Our place at the Gables has a built in gym but there is a couple gyms within minutes away or even walking distance. The weekends come alive as soon as the sun starts dropping. People start club hopping up and down the area...but nothing as over crowed as say 6th in Austin. You also have a half dozen locally owned independent restaurants within walking distance as well as pizza and chinese delivery. I'm married but it's still a fun place to hang out for couples.
