Hello all;

Me and my wife moved to Dallas, TX recently and are not very familiar with the area. Her Birthday is next weekend and I'm looking for a very romantic waterfront restaurant. Are there any within a 40mile radius? Thank you for all your help.

C. Drew

Dodie's is really good Cajun, but I wouldn't call it romantic.

Most of the waterfront restaurants I can think of are places like Sneaky Pete's and are more casual/sports kind of places than romantic. Sneaky Pete's Sports Bar & Banquet Facility

True, there isn't much in the way of nice waterfront dining here.
I think The city of Dallas is rally missing a bet by not partnering with someone to build a good restaurant overlooking White Rock where the Dreyfuss Club used to be.

If you travel a little north west to North Irving, you may want to check out the canal restaurants around Las Colinas Mandalay canal area and finish up with a romantic Gondola Adventure around lake. With casual Sports bar to formal Italian dining to Japanese and Thai flair , maybe you find something you fancy.

If you want it to be really romantic and go all the way. You can rent the boat Sail with Scott LLC - * Seawolf*is about getting you sailing on Lake Ray Hubbard the easiest, fastest, most enjoyable,*and least expensive*way.* Seawolf is a 40 foot wooden Catamaran Sailboat, $25 per person for*1 &*3/4 hour sail. You can bring your from Rockwall's Harbor and have dinner on the boat.

The Oasis in Grand Prairie is pretty nice. It's next to Joe Pool Lake and a marina.

Did not Laura Miller promise us water-front restaurants along the Trinity?

I think I recall it was to be "Like the San Antonio Riverwalk."

Did those get put in and no one told me about it?

I know I can be a jerk, so that would not be the first time something like that happened . . .

But meanwhile, while we are waiting for the restaurants to magically appear maybe try a picnic in the warm Sunshine down off the levies along Singleton, or Zang, and enjoy the views of the bridges, the sailboats and the rest of the sights, smells, and sounds of the Trinity and Dallas?
