Car rental Dallas (Mustang: price, discount, cars)

hi there, looking for a rental place for a convertable for about 12 days in late October. My boyfriend wants a ford mustang but it's a bit pricey and you never know if thats actually what you get when you rent online.. Any help would be much appreciated

WHile it is true that you cannot be sure of getting the car you want, I've been given upgrades when "my" car wasn't available. Call Hertz, etc., to see about a guarantee.

I spent 4 years with Hertz.

Anyhow, you can't really guarantee getting a certain make...despite what the reservation line tells you. Car rental companies classifies their cars by categories. What they do is group similar vehicle types into a certain category, like T stands for trucks and this includes all makes of trucks.

It's been a while but Hertz used the letter U for convertibles. So if you book a U class vehicle, you're going to get a convertible. During my time Hertz was actually owned by Ford and primarily used Ford vehicles. So we would Mustangs convertibles but on occasion we would get in a Sebring Convt. Ford has since sold off it's Hertz ownership if I recall but they still rent a lot of Ford products. So that would be my best guess on getting a convertible Stang...however, Hertz can be pricey. So check around for discounts, I know AAA gets 10-20% discounts but they normally check your card at the counter.

Avis has Camaro Convertibles. They WILL guarantee you a Camaro if you reserve one and they have both Supersport and LT models. They also have a few Mustang and Eclipse convertibles, but they are both under car class "K" and neither model can be guaranteed.
