Is this even possible in the DFW area? It seems that $600.00 is the low threshold as far as I can see if you want to stay in apartments in relatively nice areas with low crime.

I think that would be really difficult. You may find a room to rent or garage apartment in a decent area for that price.

Maybe if you look around.

I know you can definitely get a 1 bedroom (in a house) for around that price.

We considered renting our garage apartment for $600/month.
