This suddenly worked out with dh's new workplace and we have been flown out for a visit to DFW. We've narrowed our househunt (or should I say schoolhunt) down to Carrollton. We drove through some areas this afternoon and were surprised. We saw a few homes but they were all in very old areas and were not in that great condition. Where are the newer homes? I love the character of older homes but with young kids I need something that won't need constant fixing up.
So where are the newer areas in Carrollton? We drove through some newer areas that we did like but they were served by the Lewisville ISD as opposed to CFBISD which is what we want. If anyone knows of new construction or any neighborhoods 10-15 years old please drop me a line. We are leaving Monday afternoon and still have some time to drive around and check into things.

Check out Moore Farm in Carrollton, they do have new construction homes there.

Not sure what price range you are looking in. I would say Lewisville ISD schools are better than CFB ISD schools. If you have not already, check out the Texas Education Agency website for school ratings.

newer type of home are also around Frankford near I35. Kent Elem. and Rainwater have nice homes in their boundary areas. Rosemeade is another exceptional school but the homes are a little older.

McCoy Elementary also has nicer homes (a little older but still newer than some areas) in their attendance zone and they are exemplary.

Country Place is a well maintained neighborhood with an exceptional school as well. lt has a homeowners association. These homes are not as new however.
