I will be moving BACK to the DFW area in a few short months (after spending nearly 3 years in Canada). I will be working in Richardson on George Bush, right near UTD. I am toying with the idea of living down by the Farmer's Market/ Deep Ellum area, and I'm wondering about the "reverse commute" to the north. Google of course says it's about 30 minutes, but I know it will be longer in traffic. I HATE traffic and have typically lived within 15 minutes of the office, but I really want to try my hand @ city loft living, rather than the burbs. The Train/ Bus thing is not going to work since I don't really want to walk 4 miles in 100 degree weather.

Any thoughts on what the traffic might be like going against the grain? I'm not sure yet what the start time of the day will be, either 8 or 9 I assume.

LOL- Deep Ellum is hardly "south Dallas"!!

Commute isn't bad at all. Reverse commute, against traffic, figure 1 mile per minute in rush hour. Probably 20-25 minutes to UTD except for the rare days when there's a wreck and then it will take 45-60 minutes.
