How many minutes it takes you to get on the nearest highway & how long is your total commute?

Depending on traffic, 2-5 minutes to highway & 20-30 minutes to work. I live near Barksdale with quick access to 3 highways.

That is the kind of commute I am looking for. I hate going through the 10minute maize of local streets twice a day for work or more if I have to go again for shopping, social or kids activities.

I agree, wholeheartedly. I visited a friend's house in McKinney last night and we had to make a quick run for beer. It took him whole 13 minutes to get out of the "master planned community" and hop on the highway. I wonder how long it takes when schools impose 20 mph in rush hours.

In McKinney it takes me a whole 13 minutes to get out of my neighborhood, get to the store and back. And that included waiting at a light. What neighborhood does he live in?!!!

As for work, it takes me 6 minutes to 121, and then 40-50 minutes to Westlake depending on traffic @ 114 interchange.

I'm in West Plano and work in Irving, 20-25 minutes door to door, I do move pretty quickly on the PBGT and am able to leave before rush hour. The variable in time is if I hit lights or not. Its a simple commute and the toll road is well worth it to me

What times are considered rush hour?

Rush hour adds 10-15 minutes to the NDT commute, rush hour does not impact the off highway times. So commute in rush hour is 30 - 40 minutes. Nor really a bad commute but the stop and go traffic is more stressful.
