We have, looks like it's going to be nice. We just bought with Drees down the road from there and our sales guy (Beau) is now out there. We went and walked the model when it opened and drove around the neighborhood. The little bit of hills are nice and it's in a great location. They are charging a bit of a premium because of the trees and what not but it's still nice nonetheless.

Thanks Bricor. It's indeed a beautiful place. Beau seems to be a real nice person and sometimes that makes it just a little bit harder to negotiate. Did you guys have luck negotiating beyond what they offer upfront?

We did get a much better price than what it was listed at. The house we bought had been started as a spec and we bought it in the framing stage. I think it's a bit easier to deal in a situation like that but you should still be able to do better on a new build.
They aren't going to give you the best price up front. Go visit them a few times and by the 3rd time, you should get a better price. Simple sales, people want to feel like they got a good deal and if they go straight to the best price, most people will still feel the need to haggle. So they work you a bit to make you feel like you were able to haggle and get the price you wanted. Each time I visited them, I got a little better price and by the 3rd visit or so, we were in the ball park where I wanted to be.
