If money was no object, I wouldn't live in Texas full stop. Sorry, but I'm being honest. I'd live somewhere secluded and tropical where it has never...ever...ever snowed. Ever.

However if I HAD to live in DFW, I'd want one of those gigantic lots off Park Lane off Inwood so I could build the modern 'green' house of my dreams...then landscape the lot so nobody could see it.

Pretty close to my thoughts, except I've already figured out what tropical place I want to move to, about an hour and a half east of Rio, called Marica.

If money was no object, I'd live in the Hill Country. But I would definitely have to win the Lotto and become independently wealthy because there are no jobs there in my profession.

As for somewhere in DFW, I'd probably get a house in Grapevine that backs up to the Corps of Engineers' property so I could have a view of Lake Grapevine!

My parents are looking at a lot like this in Flower Mound. Truly beautiful land out there. Especially in the areas with hills

If money is no object but I still had to stay in this area, I get a ridiculous mansion out in Parker (i.e., big house + some acres) or Southlake, provided I get FIOS there for internet. Otherwise, I'll stick to my bargain home in Wylie...that still has FIOS....

If I wasn't restricted to this area and money/commute/etc was no object, I'd go back to the SF Bay Area. Get a home in Atherton or Los Gatos...

Yeah, if money was no object I would be back in Los Angeles. However, since it is, I'm very happy where I am.
