Map: Find Made in America Goods - ABC News

Made in America list- to big for me to attach it even if I compressed it. Please try to support America.

Thank you for this. This is VERY important. Buying American made goods will make a huge difference for everyone.

Think about it...if it's made in China, it's probably made of cheap plastic, manufactured by modern day slaves, and you probably don't need it...

Thanks again OP...

First & foremost, I am 120% FOR "Made in America."

That said, it is incorrect that everything made in China is low quality junk. They've been manufacturing there for 20+ years and have some very talented skilled artisans at work. The quality and workmanship on many products is the best in the world- better than Americans could make the stuff at this point in our history. It's sad, but true.

Things made in America cost more which is why most consumers choose imports over the pricier US goods. Case in point, Old Navy sells jeans for $20 or $30. They are made in China or another Asian country. On the flip side, the entire market of premium denim (Citizens for Humanity, Joes, James, AG, Hudson, Ernest Sewn, etc) are ALL made in downtown LA. They cost $150 & up though- that's the price difference between American factory labor and Chinese/Asian plus a modest increase in quality/price of raw materials.

If you want to support Made in America, buy these apparel brands even if it means buying only 1 shirt instead of your normal 3-4 due to the price difference:

American Apparel
C&C California
Splendid
Nanette Lepore- most items, not all. Check labels
Pendelton
True Religion jeans
Lucky Brand - check labels as it is now owned by Claiborne who moves production overseas quickly
Frye Boots
Redwing boots
Jack Rogers sandals
Citizens of Humanity jeans
Paige Premium Denim
Some Lee, Levi's, and Wrangler- checked labels

There are many companies that order all their parts from China and other countries and then assemble the items in the USA, they can then slap a "made in america" tag on them.

This is a fact.

Legally, those items MUST be labeled "Made in America of imported materials/fabrics/etc" or "Made in China, Finished in the USA" if part of the process is done here (ie, heated blanket is made in China but the heating apparatus is inserted in America). They cannot simply call them "Made in the USA."

That's correct, a company here in the Metroplex buys Chicom items by the shipping container. They take Chicom widget A and snap Chicom widget B to A add an Assembled in America sticker and ship the things off.

That said lots more things are made in the US than many people want to accept.

Second there is a huge wave of, "re shoring". Namely lots and lots of items, mostly not low end stuff, is better made here. We'll hear a lot about this over the next four or five years.

True- but lets refocus this and do our best to purchase as many Made in US products as we can- when we can.
