I will be moving to Royse City in about a week from CA. My parents live in Palm Springs at a Del Web CA. This is a 55 or older community that they love very much. I heard that Del Web has a new location that is called Frisco lakes off of Lewisville Lake. Can anyone tell me about this location and if this is a nice place that I would want my parents living?

From what I've seen Del Web is very nice. It is located pretty far out but I think once all the construction is done out that way it will be easier to get around the area. Near Del Web they are building daily. They have a Lowes, grocery (Kroger, I think), several shopping strips. I have a friend that recently retired from teaching and she and her husband moved out that way. She was pleased with the quality of home she got.

I lived about 2 miles south of that community. I think it's actually in Frisco city limits. The only other Del Webb community I have visited is in Georgetown, Texas...down by Austin. That community is much prettier. If you are wanting to retire in a very metro location...then Frisco is for you...it has a lot of traffic and a lot of young families...of course they don't live at Del Webb. The prices are reasonable.

My semi-retired parents have looked at both the Georgetown and Frisco Del Webb communities, and they liked both of them. If your parents sold their house in Palm Springs and bought one here, they'd have money to spare!
Another similar community is Robson Ranch on I-35 at Crawford Road just west of Denton. It's very similar to the Del Webb communities.

Thanks everyone. Can someone tell me how far Georgetown in Austin is from Dallas?

That's 4 hours via I-35, which is extremely busy. My sister and I both said NO to our parents moving down there because of the distance and awful drive!

There are a lot of similarities between Frisco Lakes and Robson Ranch. But the homes are built much better in Robson Ranch. I don't know a lot about Frisco Lakes, but Robson Ranch is a very active community with great amenities and much to do.
