I'm a single female relocating to Dallas, will be working for a major company in Grand Prairie, anyone got any places to recommend? I'll be renting, was thinking about house or apartment in Dallas downtown area, but not sure the price range.

Safety is my #1 concern.

And anyone know any good places to hang out and meet other single professionals?

ANY TIPS WOULD BE APPRECIATED HERE I COME, DALLAS!!!!

Do you were in Grand Prairie you will be working. Will you be closer to I-20 or I-30. Uptown would be a great location if your job is in Grand Prairie near I-30. I would be a long commute if your closer to I-20. Uptown would offer the most as far as a social life. There are decent apartments off I-20 in Grand Prairie but you would be a good distance from any type of social scene.

I googled map it and it looks like my company is midpoint..right in the middle of i-20 and i-30..

but that's still about at least half hour drive (if i-30)?

People told me Arlington is another place to look into..any insights?

THANK YOU!

Stop listening to them. That is no place for the single young professional crowd. You'll need to look in Dallas for that.

I'd look in Arlington. Gated community preferably.

As for safety, get a big dog.

North Arlington (north of I-30) is full of apartment complexes, and many are quite nice. If you're into jogging or biking, River Legacy Park off of North Green Oaks is really unbeatable.

But if you're more into nightlife and want to be around lots of other young singles, I agree with the recommendation of Uptown in Dallas.

Crime will inevitably be in both areas. You may want to research the police reports of the zip codes you're considering.

Uptown or Downtown - or maybe the Bishop Arts area of North Oak Cliff if you want something a bit more funky.

For that amount of money, you will find something nice and decent. A $900.00 one bedroom townhome apartment with garage is the way to go. And they are available, and they are VERY VERY NICE.
