PHILADELPHIA (October 14, 2014) – The Philadelphia Soul will be holding an open tryout at Parish Episcopal High School in Dallas, TX on Saturday, November 8. Soul head coach Clint Dolezel, general manager Tom Goodhines, assistant head coach Phil Bogle, and staff will be evaluating all players in attendance.

Every season, the Soul have found players that have been invited to training camp. The most notable over the years: Ryan McDaniel, Temple’s Sean Scott and Penn State’s Jerome Hayes. In two seasons with the Soul, McDaniel racked up 145 receptions for 1,845 yards and 40 touchdowns in 24 games. His standout game came when he had an impressive 13 catches for 137 yards and two-touchdown performance in ArenaBowl XXVI.

A pre-registration fee of $65 can be applied using PayPal at www.philadelphiasoul.com before Thursday, November 6. Registration on the day of each event will require an application fee of $80 (cash or cashier’s check only). A t-shirt will be included in the cost and all fees are non-refundable.

On the day of the tryout, registration will begin at 8 a.m., with stretching starting promptly at 9 a.m.

Players will be tested on their 40-yard time, and short shuttle with other position-specific drills and one-on-ones to follow. Please bring appropriate workout gear and shoes/cleats. Default Come out for Bernie this Sunday

Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders is scheduled to hold a town meeting in Dallas this Sunday. The location is TBD, but check his website if you're interested. He deserves an audience, since he's the only progressive candidate for national office willing to campaign in deep red states. Is Dallas Bernie country?
