My wife and I are thinking about moving to Midlothian. She is going to go have to commute from Midlothian to the Dallas Presbyterian Hospital. Does anyone know how long of a commute that would be? Would it even be doable.

Lake Highlands, North Dallas and Lakewood/East Dallas would be about a 10 minute commute. LH is closest.

I've not done the drive with the morning rush hour, but the traffic in the evenings hasn't been that bad from I-35E and I-30 down to Midlothian the few times I traveled that way, no more than 40 minutes. The worst area is between I-30 and 67. I don't know about 75, but if it's like the Tollway, traffic shouldn't be too bad.

My in laws live in Midlothian and my sister in law use to drive to that very hospital for her job from Cedar Hill when they lived there. Cedar Hill is not too far from Midlothian. It was very very long for her.

I commute daily from Midlothian to North Central Expressway and Northwest Highway. It's about a 45 minute commute, with traffic; sometimes an hour (worst case). If she car pools, she can take the HOV lane (and cut about ten minutes off the drive).

Thanks for all the help guys. My job will require me to be within 30 minutes of Alvarado, so thats why we were thinking Midlothian. We had originally thouhgt about Cedar Hill, but got alot of negative responses from people who knew the area. Once again I thank all of you for your help.

If you have any health issues with your lungs, you might want to reconsider another area. I lived that way and my family had lots of lungs issues due to the concrete plants that way. When we moved away we all got better. If your family is very healthy and there is not history of lung issues such as asthma or retro active airways, it might be ok. I know many that have to use inhalers that way and then some that don't. Where I live currently, I don't see as many people with allergies or asthma as I did that side of town.
