I need some suggestions of apartements to live in uptown Dallas. I like the social life, but also like a few nights of peacefullness. Any assistance is appreciated.

That's gonna be a bit tight. Maybe consider Knox-Henderso, still close.

Look into the Argyle on Hall and Oak Lawn if you don't mind vintage. When my girlfriend lived there, it was $1100 for a one bedroom (dining room could have been used to make it a 2 bedroom) in about 2006. I can't imagine prices going up more than $150 or so. It was huge and all bills were paid (so you could probably increase your budget a bit)

I'd check into the AMLI on Knox & Cole (Knox-Henderson area). It should be in the $1200 budget. Also you may be able to find something in a few of the Turtle Creek high rises (3225 The Renaissance, 3701 Turtle Creek North, or 3883 "21" Turtle Creek buildings) for around that - though it may be a studio and not a true 1br.
