For now I am researching homes for sale in Flower Mound for a move in 2012. I know I want my son to go to FM High school and I believe there are few(er) wells on more of the East side of FM (please correct me if I am wrong). When we were down there a couple of months ago as well as researching on line, there seem to be areas with clusters of homes for sale. Is there something I should be aware of? Are there areas I should stay clear?

One note - it seemed more for sale in non-HOA areas. Thanks as always!

We just moved to the Carrollton area a couple of weeks ago. We did look at Flower Mound, simply because the high school has a JROTC program which interests my son. However, Flower Mound has a very rural feel to it which I did not like, and the couple of homes we looked at did not excite us at all. We ended up at Hebron 9th Grade Center and then next year Hebron High School, which has a Navy JROTC. Seems like a great campus so far other than getting used to the block scheduling format that they are on. Good luck! I'm sure FM has some nice features, but we just didn't like the country feel to it.

I don't know much about the wells, but my personal, biased, opinion is that your money is better spent on the west side of Flower Mound. Nicer homes/neighborhood that seem to have the potential to age much better than those on the East side. Again, IMHO.

FM has a lot of good deals. We looked at a number in Wellington and like that area in particular.

Flower Mound -rural? Huh. Only compared to Dallas IMO. Both FM and Marcus are great schools. South FM is great for easier access to 121. We're on the north side of town (actually behind Bridlewood in Double Oak). I like every part of FM except some of the central parts around Lamar MS and Forestwood MS.

If you don't mind smaller lots and a kind of high and strict HOA, Wellington is nice. And Bridlewood if you're open to Marcus HS.

That's really the area I'm referring to. I worry about the value of the homes even further east than that.

West Flower Nound is great.Anything east of Long Prairie rd will be less expensive.Bridlewood is a wonderful subdivision,we looked there before deciding on Prosper. If you are looking in Flower mound check out Highland village as well and look at the Shores subdivision ...

Why would you worry about home values in East part of FM?

Yeah I am curious too, this is not the first time I have heard this..I had been advised to stay east of Long Prairie and liked everything over there I had seen. Why do you worry about values over there?
