Hello ya'll,

This thread took off on a new tangent, so I split it off and moved the posts to Texas forum (Texas Schools).

My apologies to Steel man. Sorry to have taken this discussion to a low level. I took a post the wrong way.

Default Raised in California, Lived 20 years in TX

I long for the cool summers of northern california. It gets hot (over 90) by the end of May and stays that way or hotter until the end of September, but it looks like it'll be thru the end of October this year. I've heard it said there are two good weeks of weather in the Fall and in the Spring in Texas. There is some truth to that. By November you will get some cooler weather in the 40's and thru the winter with some ice storms and some freezing down to 15 degrees but only for a few days. Mostly days are in the 50's. I remember quite a few days in December that were in the 70's--it just depends on where the winds are blowing; from Canada or from the Gulf.
In texas most people live indoors, and we have air conditioning everywhere. And for things like mowing the lawn, we do it early in the morning. Humidity here is much lower than in a coastal area like Houston, so that helps a lot.
