My wife and I have lived here for 23 years and still cannot find good Italian bread/rolls. Likewise are there any bakeries in dallas that offer
Italian pastries (cannolis, napoleons, baba rum, etc.) Have tried Jimmy's....good italian food, but bread is not that good, and Empire bakery...not even close.

Good to know..I will lower my expectations considerably when I move there. I live in Boston now, and I know places that would blow your mind for bread. What I would tell you is that Portuguese people make excellent bread, so look for a Portuguese bakery as well as Italian, should expand your options.

I feel your pain, I am bigtime foodie, and very Italian. I love my food and travel great distances for quality. Bread is one of those things that worth the trip. Sad that there are so many commercial breads out there, and the large percentage aren't even worth a eating. Few things are better than a fresh loaf of Scali bread.

Good luck!

I gave up on finding a place for good croissants or napoleon, so I turned to my kitchen and I make my own. Eatzi's in Oaklawn has some good bread.
