Hi all,

Just moved into dallas from another state. I found the inspection sticker gives me just one year expiration date. Does that mean I must inspect my car every year to register my car? (Tax office needs inspection certificate when register my car). Totally That costs me about $100 bucks including inspection and registration charge, think it's horrible in this state.

Pay up, Totally. It would really be bad if you had a state income tax, as well.

You can choose not to pay up for that sticker and your city registration sticker.

Eventually they do catch up and the tow+penalty fine would cover both sticker fees for 3-4 years.

You takes your chances...

Ask Californians how much they spend to register/inspct their cars. Then Texas' fees won't seem so high.

I believe the inspection fee is state-mandated at $30 or so. And the inspection is incredibly basic...

Default Correct

You must both inspect and register you car every year in Texas. Considering Texas has no income tax, it's not a bad deal. Plus, annual inspections do help keep dangerous cars off the road making it safer for you and I.

Yes, you do.
Unless you buy a brand new car.
Then it's 2 years until your first inspection.
Unless, like happened to me, you buy your new car from an out-of-state dealer. Which screwed me on the inspection.
