Hello everyone, I'm trying to move next year and want to stay in the south. I'm from Mississippi and lived in Georgia and Florida and visit Texas to see family and I have to say I like it better than Florida and Georgia. I'm single and 23 and looking for a good apartment place in Dallas. Could someone tell some good activities to do in Dallas and some bad things about it.

A few details: Do you have employment lined up? Are you interested in going to school? What kind of activities do you like to do in Florida?

I don't mean to be a dick, but Dallas is the fourth biggest metro area in the country. There are thousands of attractions, thousands of apartments, hundreds of neighborhoods... You've got to give us more to work with. :-)

Zachary.B --> BigT3x is correct - we'll need you to help us help you.

Per TOS,
Quote:
When asking questions about a location, give as much detail as you can, so we can zero in on the info you need. If house hunting, what is your price level or rental amount. How many BR's, Baths, square feet, lot size, etc, do you need? Pets? SFH, TH, Condo, mobile home? In-town, rural, college town, military town, mountains? Schools for children? Gated community, golf course community, active senior community? Do you need to stable a horse? Is there an RV or boat trailer to consider? The more you tell us, the sooner our regular posters can reply with specificity. Same for any other criteria you have. Please avoid open-ended requests like "I'm moving to your city, tell me EVERYTHING I need to know."
We'll need a lot more info from you to be able to respond with anything that would be helpful to you.

I know sorry for the lack of info. I'm looking for a good one bed room and 1 bath apartment in uptown Dallas or closer to downtown in the $600-$900 range. I want to be close to stores, bars and restaurants so I can walk or ride my bike. That way I won't have to drive if traffic is bad. Any fun activities would do for me. Is there any lakes to fish in either, It's not a need but when I want to I can drive somewhere to fish. Just something for a young single man like me to enjoy lol.

the Village is a good suggestion. You might also look into East Dallas, near Henderson Avenue. There's a growing bar scene along Henderson Avenue, which is north of Uptown and on the east side of Central Expressway. The area is in the throes of gentrification so some blocks and buildings are more well-kept than others.

D Magazine : What Henderson Avenue's Rebirth Says About the Future of Dallas

Are you going to have a chance to come out here before you move? Where in Florida are you coming from?

Was it Dallas that you visited and made you decide you like Texas?

Are decent lofts to be had for his budget of $600-$900 in Deep Ellum? If so, it sounds like what he's looking for.
