The extenstion to I-30 is already up on Google Maps. Actually, I think the extension was already showing up there (as "proposed") several weeks ago.

Similarly, you can track the southward extension of the other end of the Bush not only to I-20 (along the existing 161), but the route beyond that to Lake Ridge Parkway is clearly visible on Google Maps if you zoom in a little.

For the new Chisholm Trail route that has barely started, you can see 9 maps detailing that planned route at the NTTA website.

Yep, it sure is up on Google. I guess they haven't incorporated 190 into the directions on Google maps yet, though. I tried a couple of quick direction searches and none of them have 190 as part of the route. I'm sure that will be updated soon.

mixed bag. You either gain property value and/or lose your rural feeling. No winners, or everyone is a winner. Depends on whether you want to live there forever, or sell it for a profit.

I think either way you win.

It has it's pro's and con's- I live down the street from the 190 through Rowlett. I will rarely travel it however I sure hope it lights the major traffic coming from Firewheel/Rowlett Rd south bound onto Rockwall and points east. I have noticed since so major changes due to closing or routing roads near Merritt and Liberty has free up heavy traffic on neighborhoods **Which is nice

I only hope it's a good investment for Rowlett with the new retail strips that have came in. I don't want to see empty buildings (no matter the city).

As of 2:30 today, the ramps coming off of southbound Bush Turnpike onto I-30 were open, but the ramps to enter Bush at I-30 were still closed.

What a cluster!! They had the eastbound Firewheel exit closed and no notice just 3 cops stationed as a blockade. So then you were forced to drive all the way to Miles. Where they had the entrance closed headed back to the west. And no frontage road.

I've lived in the immediate area for nearly two decades and even I had to get my bearings trying to figure out how to get back to Firewheel via Miles. There were no detour signs anywhere.

Who on earth decided that closing the exit to the mall three days before Christmas was a good idea??

Anyone been on this today? Just wondering if the connections with I-30 are all open. For me personally, this has little value if I cannot go from Bush to I-30 (both directions) and I-30 (both directions) to Bush.

Thanks!

I'm wondering if this will help me get from Carrollton to Rockwall any faster than hopping on the North Dallas Tollway (then 635 and I30) which is about 5 minutes from my house.

Checking Google Maps let me know that it won't really help.

Absolutely shorter and a lot less traffic. The only difference is it's going to cost you in tolls instead of the free 635/30 but worth it IMO.

I know that the stretch from Firewheel to 30 is $1.50 and I think you have 2 more tolls from Carrollton to Firewheel.

I would think it would significantly reduce the commute time.
