My son & I are going down soon to scope out the FM area to see the areas we like in preparation for when I am ready to start officially searching for a home. I'd like to check out a few homes that may be having an open house. Question is - can I just go or must I have a RE agent with me? THanks

You can just walk into an open house.

Be aware that many RE agents use open houses to fish for potential clients. Don't be surprised if they call you up a few days later looking to represent you.

I'll keep that in mind if they ask for info. I'm pretty straight forward that I am not looking to put an offer, but rather looking at the different styles of home down there (used to capes, raised ranches, ranches and colonials) and the different areas. It's all quite different!

Sounds like a great use for a Google Voice number
