I am getting married at Kessler Park Methodist and looking for a rehearsal dinner location in the Kessler Park/Bishop Arts/Stevens Park area of Dallas (North Oak Cliff). I gave my FMIL some suggestions: Hattie's, Eno's, Smoke, Tillman's, Bolsa, and La Calle Doce. I'm thinking some of these places might be too pricey for her and Gloria's doesn't take reservations on Fridays. I would appreciate any suggestions or ideas! Thanks!!!

Eno's is a pizza place. Have you looked up the menus for these places? Depending on the size of your party - Tillman's has a private room. There is also Mesa on Jefferson. What about Jonathan's on Beckley? I'm guessing CampO would be over budget.

Default more details

I'm not really sure the budget. My fiance's parents are paying and I'm just giving her some suggestions. We are anticipating 35-40 people. I mentioned La Calle doce to her because I thought it would be affordable but she told my fiance it was a bit pricey.

I would definitely do Eno's. If they can't afford pizzas and salads, they probably won't be able to afford anything. Not being snarky, just honest. I would guess you could do pizza & salads for 40 for around $300-400?
3-4 people to a pizza x $15/ea x 12? pizzas = $180 +
5-6 big salads x $15 = $90 +
$75 apps +
Taxes & gratutities

I'd call them first and see what Bolsa says. If the budget and timing works - that place is full often - Bolsa's food is wonderful and very reasonably priced.
If any drinking is likely Bolsa's bar is excellent as well.

I second TC80's Eno's suggestion as well it's really good too.

If Calle 12 is too price Bolsa would be astronomical.....try la calle 12 other restaurant el ranchito yeah i know a mexican pinata joint, but its fun and they will separate the small area by the bar for you...you can order a special menu for them....there isnt much of a choice in oakcliff....glorias may not take reservations, but call them again..this isnt a dinner for 6 its a rehearsal dinner and they may do it then....if pizza is coming at 400 bucks for 40 people then el ranchito should be able to do something heck even la calle 12, but you should negotiate a special menu for the group...

I wouldn't even call Bolsa. If La Called Dolce was too much, Bolsa would be off the chart.

I think El Ranchito is a good idea - especially if they have mariachis. The building was originally designed by Charles Stevens Dilbeck, so there's always something new to discover in there...
