Hello all,

Where can I look for rental homes in Richardson? I've decided this area is where I'd like to live

Thanks!

Have you checked the classified ads in the newspaper.
Craigslist, realtor services, driving around in the area
to see if there may be a "For Rent/Lease" sign.

Driving is good. When I lived in RIchardson lo these many years ago, I found my rental home by driving the neighborhoods.
Do you know what part of Richardson you are looking at? The Older part of Richardson just East of 75, and the area bordered by Campbell to the North, Beltline to the South, Coit to the East, and 75 to the west often has homes leasing by owner, that you can find from driving by.

Go to Realtor.com & search 75082 for rental properties, this is the newer & rather upscale part of Richardson wich comes in Collin County and has PISD schools. Currently, you can find homes from $1600-3300. You can drive around and decide which ones you want to see & you may find a few unlisted properties as well.

Realtor.com also lists rentals. 75080 has several that I know of.

Be very careful. There are a ton of rental scams running on Craigslist targeting particularly people from out of town.

^True! There are scams by both advertiser and responder. I typically post ads on CL and several other places when I have a vacancy. Every time I get responses from my craigslist posting that are highly suspicious from "out of town" or "out of country" responders offering to pay higher than advertised rent and offering to send deposits before viewing the property. I know not all are scams, but some are! As a potential tenant of a privately owned property, be sure your lease is between you and the owner. You can look on the Dallas or Tarrant county appraisal districts to find out who the owner is. If its a newly acquired property and the owner tells you the appraisal district hasn't updated the records yet (true, it can take months to record new ownership), you can look it up by owner name in the property records: ROAM
