I'm moving to the Dallas area in a couple of weeks and can't wait to get there. My wife will stay behind for about a month to finish her job and finalize our moving process. While she's here I will start the search for a home in DFW.

We want to rent either a single family house or a nice ground floor condo or townhome in a community setting. I'd like to find a good, realiable and friendly real estate agent who can run the listings for me and take me to see some places.

Suggestions?

Remember that folks cannot post names of realtors on the forum, per TOS. You can send him a DM with any names.

Try anywho.com (yellow pages). Type in "apartment finders" and several will pop up. Then you can call them and interview them about how they work and decide who you want to work with. I used one when I moved here in 1999 and it was totally seamless.

Welcome!

and remember that any real estate agent or apartment locator gets paid by the property owner. NEVER agree to pay a locator for the serice here in the DFW area. I am a landlord and recently one of my applicants paid a service $80 and they did not help him. It was a scam.
